What the client wanted: designed by golfer Bernhard Langer, one of the great figures of the modern game, the Modena Golf & Country Club occupies 105 hectares of land overall, offering an 18-hole championship course, a 9-hole executive course, a driving range and a putting green. The watering system needed to be easily manageable and versatile, and in addition to being centralized, controllable directly from any part of the course by the greenkeeper. It would also need to provide scope for future expansion, given the long-term ambitions of the prestigious Italian Club.

The Clabermeteo solution: an IDS Decoder Watering System comprising a PC with Aquameteo IDS software installed, one CLP (Plus Line Controller) field control unit and a total of 37 decoders deployed all around the grounds, each able to control 12 watering sectors. This gives 444 controllable sectors overall, of which 332 went into use straight away, with the remaining 112 available for future development of the facility.
